The Story Behind "One-for-One" Ministry
I was driving one day and praying about just what to call this ministry and as it happened I was headed North on Highway 141, a local connector between Des Moines and its northwestern Suburbs. I thought "hmm, 141", I like it! Simply stated, 141 is just like Christianity and discipleship, "one for one". One of the fascinating elements of discipleship is that of "togetherness". Ironically, most men would rather do it alone and be left alone. Well, life and the Christian life are not designed to be done alone.
Personally, I would love it if I did not have to ask you for help. Yes, that means conversely that I hate asking for help, but it is God's design that we do this together. And, He knows that I need to be kept humble, so I am greatly humbled by those of you who support me in this great work, His Work. It is work to get men to spiritually engage and it comes at a cost, personal investment.
Please help me raise up other "disciplers" who will invest in men who themselves will accept their God-given responsibility to then invest in other men. As a young Pastor I realized I could "do ministry" and try to stay above the fray, or I could get my "hands dirty" and reach into lives. Every time I looked at the example of my Savior I saw He was willing to advocate no matter the cost...up close and personal. He was a "discipler". That is when I got on the "disciple ship" and am still sailing after all these years. Please pray for me and help me take His message and His method to the leaders here and across the world.
Feedback
“Pastors and missionaries are constantly passing through spiritual battles in their lives and in their work. We need people like Keith who can understand our situations, help sort them out and then speak truth into them. There are precious few out there who have these abilities and are available to do so. For me personally, I would not have survived and had victory over things God allowed me to pass through this past year if God had not also put Keith in my life.”
